Den Grå Hal proudly presents NATTESOL, an evening of boundary-pushing experimental music blending local and international talents in an intimate setting.
This edition features ZULI, a groundbreaking musician and producer from Cairo, Egypt. Known for his fusion of breakbeats, ambient, and intricate soundscapes, ZULI will deliver a special live set showcasing material from his critically acclaimed release Lambda. As described by Pitchfork: “A spellbinding fusion of atmosphere and texture, forever mutating into new shapes.”
Also performing is TEHRAN (fka Nadia Tehran), an uncompromising Iranian/Swedish artist unveiling their upcoming visual project, HUSQUARNA. Combining dissonant nu-metal guitars, programmed blast beats, and a commanding vocal presence, TEHRAN weaves Swedish, English, and Farsi into raw, emotional performances. Their music explores grief, depression, and addiction, transforming darkness into a fierce statement of resistance and transcendence.
Rounding out the evening is 20_14 Assembly, a sublabel and event platform from Copenhagen’s Escho, curated by drummer/producer Rune Kielsgaard. For this special performance, 20_14 Assembly brings together local luminaries Francesca Burattelli, Cæcilie Trier (CTM), Xenia Xamanek, and Rune Kielsgaard for a one-of-a-kind improvised concert.

NATTESOL:
An evening of boundary-pushing experimental music blending local and international talents.
This is an invitation to experience new experimental music from different scenes, in an intimate setting within the historical Grey Hall, Christiania.
ZULI
Ahmed El Ghazoly aka ZULI (stylized in all capitals), is a musician, producer, and sound artist from Cairo, Egypt. Internationally, ZULI is best known for his releases on Lee Gamble’s UIQ – which included a string of EPs as well as his debut LP Terminal, an album that highlighted the depth in his productions, as he simultaneously combines experimentations in rap/hip-hop with music for listening as well as the dancefloor. The Italian Haunter Records also saw the release of the infamous Trigger Finger EP which went on to be remixed by the likes of TSVI, AYA, Acre and more. In 2019, ZULI launched a video series ‘irsh’ together with Rama where they curated and invited artists to play video recorded sets in a social setting. Only having the chance to record two episodes before the pandemic struck, they launched a label and have since released 2 compilations and a solo release by long time collaborator Omar El Sadek aka Qow. Locally in Cairo, ZULI is best known for his work in the Hip-hop scene, particularly with rapper Abyusif (who appeared on ZULI’s 2018 album ‘Terminal’) but also in the Electronic music scene as part of the now defunct collective Kairo Ist Koming (KIK) between 2012-2015. It’s there he founded Cairo’s alternative music venue and club, VENT, together with Asem Tag aka ($$TAG$$), which existed between 2013-2015 before transforming their project into a namesake club night and festival. Around the same time, VENT London was established at the now closed Dance Tunnel venue by a third partner, Mohamed Elshourbagui. ZULI’s music garners support all over the board ranging from the likes of Aphex Twin and Autechre, to Ben UFO and Bradley Zero, even Richie Hawtin through its wide ranging sound. He joined the NTS Radio roster in 2016 with a monthly show that includes a dedicated hour to guest appearances from up and coming DJs and ones he meets touring around the world.
TEHRAN
Behind TEHRAN is the unruly Irani/Swedish artist formerly known as Nadia Tehran. TEHRAN now returns to unveil the music of their upcoming visual album: HUSQVARNA. Following their groundbreaking debut DOZAKH in 2019, and touring with Yung Lean, TEHRAN has removed themselves from the algorithmic glam and Stockholm board-room-tables. The past 5 years they have found themselves in the shadowy creeks of the Copenhagen underground. Here TEHRAN has been crafting a new artistic identity that is at once forcefully iconic, enigmatic and deeply personal. Thus, in early 2024 TEHRAN announced their upcoming visual album HUSQVARNA – to be self-released by their own label Inherited Void. As much as the shortened moniker TEHRAN signals rebirth, the album HUSQVARNA also feels like a (deranged?) extension of how they always channel multitudes of raw emotion with no bullshit as the only convention. Amidst dissonant nu-metal guitars and programmed blast-beats, TEHRAN’s voice takes center-stage as Swedish, English and Farsi unfolds in screams, growls and tender melodies. With unapologetic sincerity the lyrics deal with themes of grief, depression and addiction. Yet it is from these dark matters that transformation holds no suggestion but an exclamation: of undeniable resistance, faith and transcendence.
HUSQVARNA is also a direct reference to TEHRAN’s birthplace Jönköping as a historic site of Swedish weapon-production, geopolitical ambivalence, welfare mechanics and migrant alienation. These structuring undercurrents come to the surface in the visual dimension of HUSQVARNA. Each track frames its characters side by side at Jönköping landmarks, industrial domiciles, chaotic nature and orderly institutions. All settings that define TEHRAN’s path in processing past and present urges to break free from the dull and deceiving confines of Scandinavian ‘hygge’.
On the 15th of March 2025 TEHRAN will perform the album live at Den Grå Hal in Christiania, Copenhagen with a selected band of local weirdlings, promising nothing but Shakespearian agony and chainsaw catharsis.
